Lauren Kelly, American mezzo-soprano, is acclaimed for her stylistic versatility, moving seamlessly between baroque and contemporary repertoire as both a soloist and ensemble member. A core member of the GRAMMY award–winning choir The Crossing, Lauren brings a bold, expressive voice to cutting-edge new music.

A passionate interpreter of Bach, she is honored to be a finalist in this year's National American Oratorio Competition. She made her debut with the Colorado Bach Ensemble last season, adding to solo appearances with Choral Arts Philadelphia and Chicago’s Calyx Ensemble. She also performs regularly with Montana’s premier professional choir, Roots in the Sky, where she fulfills her dream of making music in the mountains.

This season, her engagements include appearances with Lorelei Ensemble, Variant 6, Baroque Music Montana, Stare at the Sun, and a Carnegie Hall solo debut in Can We Know the Sound of Forgiveness by Gabriela Ortiz.

She holds a BM in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College and an MM in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University. When she’s not singing, she’s likely hiking a mountain trail with her rescue dog, talking to you about gear, or advocating for equity in the outdoors.
